The UTC Online Job Board Provides Posting for Job Seekers and Potential Employers

Salt Lake City —December 11, 2007—The Utah Technology Council (UTC) announces the formal launch of its online Job Board for individuals looking for jobs and for member companies wanting to fill positions in their technology and life sciences firms. The Job Board is available through the UTC Web site, (www.utahtechcouncil.org) or by visiting http://utahtechnologyjobs.com. The job board was developed with the assistance of iApplicants.com to help Utah employers and job seekers find the specific connections they need.

“In a community that is so rich with talent, we are providing this service as an added value to our member companies to help them find qualified potential employees,” says Richard Nelson, president and CEO of UTC and chairman and CEO of CRITA (Council of Regional Information Technology Associations).

Prior to this announcement, within the first several months of live use, the UTC Job Board has received more than 90 job postings; a third of which have been fulfilled. Also, with a rolling list of job posts and applications submitted, the site maintains a monthly activity range of more than 2,000 visits per month. This allows the site to keep listings current.

“We received our first applicant in less than 24 hours after posting a job opening; within that week, we received more than 60 qualified applications,” says Jim Barnhardt, co-founder and creative director of RNB Studios. “To have this service made available as part of our membership with UTC made it a no-brainer.”

UTC officials note that even prior to this announcement, the recent addition of the Job Board to the UTC website has increased Web traffic by more than 30 percent.

“UTC has devoted time and resources in developing a top-notch job posting tool for Utah companies,” says Robert Merrill, technical account manager of SOS Technical. “The fact that this service is free to UTC members makes it even more remarkable.”
