SALT LAKE CITY, May 29, 2007 – Following UTC’s tradition of featuring top global technology CEO’s such as Steven Ballmer, Mark Hurd and Kevin Rollins, the Utah Technology Council’s ninth annual “Hall of Fame” celebration is expected to be among the most eventful for the Utah technology industry. This year’s gala on November 30 will feature Intel President and CEO Paul S. Otellini as its distinguished keynote speaker. Paul Otellini joined Intel in 1974. He became the company's fifth CEO on May 18, 2005, succeeding Craig R. Barrett. Otellini previously served as Intel’s president and chief operating officer, positions he held since 2002, the same year he was elected to Intel’s board of directors. From 1998 to 2002, he was executive vice president and general manager of the Intel Architecture Group. From 1992 to 1998, Otellini served as executive vice president of the Sales and Marketing Group. Previously, he served as general manager of the Microprocessor Products Group, leading the introduction of the Pentium® microprocessor that followed in 1993. Otellini received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of San Francisco in 1972 and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley in 1974. The Utah Technology Council’s black-tie invited “Hall of Fame” celebration begins with a networking reception at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City.
