SALT LAKE CITY – March 23, 2007– Shane Robison, Executive VP, Chief Strategy and Technology Officer for Hewlett Packard will be the keynote speaker for the Utah Technology Council’s (UTC) Annual Members’ Meeting on March 29. At the event, Robison will share business strategy insights with Utah business and community leaders. He will address “Aligning Hewlett-Packard’s R&D and M&A for growth.” The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City. “Shane Robison is a 2003 UTC Hall of Fame inductee and one of the most dynamic and compelling technology executives in the nation,” said Richard R. Nelson, president of UTC and of the national Council of Regional Information Technology Associations (CRITA). “We are eager to hear his incredible insights into our future from his unique view stop the largest technology company in the world.” Shane Robison, who received his bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science from the University of Utah, is responsible for shaping HP's overall corporate strategy and technology agenda. He steers the company's $3.5 billion research and development investment and fosters the development of the company's global technical community. Robison also leads the company's strategy and corporate development efforts, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, intellectual property licensing, venture capital community and partnerships. He was one of four principal architects of HP's merger with Compaq Computer Corp., and, in 2004, InfoWorld declared Robison one of the world's 25 most influential chief technology officers. UTC will celebrate the Council’s successes of the last 12 months as well as present its agenda for 2007. At this event, UTC will also be honoring the 2006 Executives of the Year: CEO, CTO, HR, Emerging Executive, Trustee and Legislator.
