FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SALT LAKE CITY – March 8, 2007– This week UTC hosted their Utah County Luncheon at the Big Business and Technology Expo. The luncheon featured a panel discussion comprised of several Utah technology leaders, including Tom Karren, CEO of WingateWeb; Jeff Sebok, director of IT solution development at Xango; Chris Stevens, CTO of Logoworks; and Mike Tippets, CEO of Helius. The panel discussion was moderated by Jeanette Bennett of Utah Valley BusinessQ Magazine.

The panel focused on how technology can help Utah businesses grow. Participants discussed how utilizing technology helps companies expand outside of the Utah market, the importance of IT security and compliance, and how companies are utilizing social networking technology such as blogging. The panel also talked about common mistakes made by small companies such as incorporating unnecessary and expensive technology. In addition, panel members made a 10-year technology forecast that included greater technology convergence within multimedia products, smaller and more powerful mobile devices, and robotics.

“Utah has the highest number of Inc. 500 companies per capita in the U.S.,” said Richard Nelson, president and CEO of UTC. “Events such as this technology panel further cultivate the already rich Utah business landscape. This was a great opportunity for attendees to learn, firsthand, from some of Utah’s strategic thinkers how to leverage technology in business.”
