UITA Appoints Four New Trustees
-UITA Adds Shawn Adamson, Alan Hall, Brent Miller and Cheryl Snapp Conner to its Board of Trustees-

SALT LAKE CITY, December 20, 2004 – The Utah Information Technology Association (UITA) announced four new members to its Board of Trustees at its recent trustee meeting held at Northface University.

“We are energized with the new additions to our board,” said Richard Nelson, UITA President. “They all bring incredible leadership and strategic business expertise to UITA, which is essential to advancing the growing technology industry that is so vital to Utah.”

New trustee appointments include the following: Shawn Adamson, Alan Hall, Brent Miller and Cheryl Snapp Conner.

Shawn Adamson
Shawn Adamson is the vice president and general manager of XO Communications Utah. Adamson has more than a decade of diversified management experience in telecom and technology, and previously served as director of provisioning for national business process operations and western region director of information systems for XO Communications. Prior to XO, she was with ITC as director of information systems.
Alan Hall
In July of 2004, Hall founded Grow Utah Ventures and Top of Utah Angels, which stimulates the growth of start-up business through private angel equity investments. Hall also founded MarketStar Corporation, a major Utah company with significant channel sales for national IT companies, where he serves as chairman and CEO. Hall has been recognized for his business successes by several organizations, including Ernst and Young as Utah’s Entrepreneur of the Year.
Brent Miller
Dr. Brent Miller is vice president for research and director of federal relations at Utah State University (USU). He previously had been Interim VP for research, and head of the USU Department of Family and Human Development. Since being appointed VP for research, Miller has focused on building Utah State’s research capacity by providing resources to recruit and retain outstanding faculty and students.
Cheryl Snapp Conner
Cheryl Snapp Conner, a partner and executive director of public relations services at Snapp Norris Group (SNG), has enjoyed a remarkable public relations career that has spanned 21 years. Throughout the U.S., Snapp Conner has directed strategic PR launches for a number of high-profile technology companies. Along with joining UITA’s Board of Trustees, Snapp Conner will continue to serve as chairperson of UITA’s Public Relations Committee, a position she has held for the past two years.
