On Tuesday, February 21, 2006, UITA held a special CEO Roundtable with Steven J. Law, Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor. The Roundtable, hosted by UITA and the Department of Labor, provided a unique opportunity for the Utah technology industry to provide feedback to President Bush on the American Competitiveness Initiative (as announced in the January 2006 State of the Union address). The Initiative aims to strengthen innovation and education in the U.S. by improving mathematics and science education, foreign language studies, and high schools.
